ABOUT

A slower kind of looking.

I shoot primarily on film — mostly medium format, sometimes 35mm when the situation calls for it. I print in my own darkroom in Hackney for editorial work, and at a small family-run lab in Silver Lake when I'm in California. I travel lightly, wait patiently, and prefer gray days.

Before photography I studied architecture at the Bartlett (2009–2014). That training is still the clearest influence on how I frame — light, mass, emptiness, and the way a room holds a person. Graduated to full-time photographic work in 2016.

Representation — Lumen Agency (Europe) · Mackey & Rowe (US). Press & licensing enquiries through the agency desk.

HOW I WORK

Four quiet steps.

01

Conversation

A long call or a coffee. I want to know what the picture is for, who will see it, and what it should feel like ten years from now.

02

Recce & plan

For interiors and editorial I visit the location before we shoot. For portraits I usually meet the sitter once, no camera, just to talk.

03

Shoot

Slow. Film mostly. One assistant on interiors and commissions, no assistant for private portraits. I shoot fewer frames than most — 3–6 rolls on a half-day.

04

Edit & print

All film scanned and graded by me. A first edit within ten days. For private work, I deliver both the digital files and a set of archival silver-gelatin prints.
